This programme is in accordance with the KUSA's Canine Good Citizen Assessment Criteria. You will either be able to participate in the assessment AT YOUR CHOICE, or you can attend this programme to have a better understanding of what it takes to have the ideal companion dog, in the real world.

Criteria: Your dog does not display any behavioural issues, such as: Aggression to other dogs on and off lead, Aggression towards people, lead reactivity. Kindly understand that if your dog is dispaying any of these behaviours, this group class is NOT suited for your dog. And you may be asked to change to another group.

Dependant on what you have explained above, this programme may not be advisable for your dog. If you chose not to disclose any behavioural issues, you will be putting yourself, your dog, as well as other dogs and handlers at risk.

There is a small fee for the assessment which will be for your cost if and when we decide, as a class, to have the assesment, it will be carried out.

Please note, the success of the programme will be solely dependant on the homework given and carried out. Dogs learn best through pleasant associations and repetition. Homework will not be exhaustive, it will be practical, to the owners and dogs needs.
You will be provided with a TRAINING CALENDAR, as we may have one week off a Month, this will be confirmed before the course starts.
ALWAYS have treats available to cater for your dogs needs, using their usual meal kibble may not work in most cases, but please bring it along, if this doesn't do the trick, please bring treats of HIGH VALUE when learning something new in a new environment, and a fair amount is needed,
Cost of the Programme is R950, which includes a Karen Pryor Clicker, course dates will be sent to you when they have been confirmed.

Rules

We do have RULES to which we need to adhere to, to ensure that the safety of ourselves, our puppy and others are protected. They will are listed below.

Kindly note that your pup will only be eligible to join 10 days after their second set of vaccinations.
Clean Up after your dog, please remove your waste with you when you leave, nothing is to be left on the grounds for hygienic purposes.
It is common courtesy to let your instructor know that you will not be attending classes at least 24 hours in advance, unless in urgent situations.
Be aware of what your dog is doing AT ALL TIMES in order to avoid any unpleasant interaction with other dogs or puppies in the group.
STRICTLY the use of a well fitted harness and lead is the only equipment allowed. Equipment not permitted: Step in Harnesses, NO EXTENDABLE/RETRACTABLE leads, NO SLIP LEADS, NO CHOKE CHAINS, NO SHOCK COLLARS, NO HALF CHECKS, or any other equipment that causes discomfort to your dog.

Please wear the appropriate shoes, such as takkies to minimize injuries.
Things to bring to every lesson. Treat Pouch, Treats, Clicker, Toys, etc
Kindly understand that should you miss a lesson it will be your responbility to inform the instructor, she will then make an arrangement for you to make up the lesson. Should you fail to inform her, you will duly lose out on the lesson.
INDEMNITY: Whilst every possible precaution has been taken to ensure the saftey of both handlers and dog attending Canine Coaching, the owner and the operator of Canine Coaching will not be held responsible for any damages incurred to property, persons or dog whatsoever. Handlers are reminded that the control of their dogs is their responsibility at all times.
